Kiss Or Kill..

16 02 2009

So lately I’ve been seeing and hearing a lot about this band called Endeverafter. I loved their track “Baby, Baby, Baby” on the free cd “Sons of GunsIII” from Classic Rock Magazine, and magazines and blogs were pretty positive about this album so I figured, why not get the album and write a little review, even though it was released in 2007..

Endeverafter is poppy in a rocking way. These are some radiofriendly songs with mellow chorusses. But still, there is a lot of guitar violence on this disc.
“I Wanna Be Your Man” kickstarts the album with thunder drums and bass-n-guitars of lighting. Fast vocals which sound quite like mr Axl Rose when there’s some screaming involved. This first song might also be my favorite on this album. Second song “Baby, Baby, Baby” is a song I have heard many times before thanks to  CRM, and is a songs I just have to sing along to with the chorus. Love the guitar solo on this one. The intro of “Poison” sounds like Iron Maiden mudwrestlin’ Eddie, once again, I love the solo on this song, hats-off. “Long Way Home” is a very beautiful ballad with very nice musical arrangements. I can lose myself in this song..

Lemme tell you about this band, Rockets to Ruin. This bunch of hell-raisin’, heavy riffin’, bass growlin’ motherfuckers from Atlanta rock harder than Mount Everest.

Their album “Love*Drugs*Rebellion” starts off with the song “We Are The Drugs”, which immediatly pulls you into the spirit off the album. This disc is full of songs about sex, drugs, Hollywood, the struggles of getting famous and oh, did I mention drugs?

So back to the songs.  We Are The Drugs is about the struggles of making it in the dirty entertainment scene in Hollywood. The lyrics mention “sucking cock for whoever you meet”, (cheers to you Hollywood).  The song starts off with some tension building guitarsounds and a nice drum n bass groove and than kicks into this fucking heavy guitar riff.

“Take a Ride With Me (Straight to Hell)” opens with a heavy guitar riff as well, but as the first verse kicks in the music turns to a dark kinda atmosphere, though it’s relaxing.. But as soon as you’re starting to calm down the chorus is there and I must tell you, that is one heavy chorus! This song is just like a rollercoaster, you go from intense guitar riffin to relaxing string picking all the way back to riffin. So it really is a ride to hell, and back, and then back to hell..

“Devil Girl” has got a really cool groof musically and a pretty dark lyrical theme. I think it’s about a girl trying to make it, but she turned into a helpless junky and hits rock bottom. “Baby you were born to lose” says it all I guess. I’d like to compliment Mike for the guitar solo on this song.

One of my favorite songs on the album is “Gotta Go, Gotta Roll”, I love the high pitch guitar parts, the way the drums, guitar, and bass work together in this song and really create raw energy which drives you thru this song like a speedtrain. I really love this song!

This album truly is a classic.. Each song rocks as hard as the previous ones, maybe even harder. These songs are heavy, dirty, fast and loaded with mob chants, great lyrics and fucking great music. Get it! Cheers!

As some of you might have noticed, the myspace release of the songs has been delayed, the guys are putting up some final touches in the studio today and they hope the songs will be uploaded on myspace tonight.

An interview with the band will hopefully follow soon.

Loaded Like a Motherfucka

5 11 2008

Seems like Duff hasn’t lost his punk approach to music during the recordings of Velvet Revolver’s “Libertad”. which to my personal point of view was a bit soft.. Loaded’s new E.P. “Wasted Heart” on the other hand rocks the shit outta me. It’s got a big punk n’ roll feel to it and the ballad “Wasted Heart” is just magical. I have to admit I didn’t really dig the way Duff sings on this E.P. but after a while I actually liked it’s “Can’t Sing, Don’t Care” attitude. (Though Duff really can sing for all I care).
Even though there are only five songs on the disc, it’s sure worth buying it (there are only 7.000 copies made).

I’m very sorry but I havn’t really been able to put some updates on my blog lately but I’m doing the best I can to keep you sleazy mothafuckas updated. I’ve got some cool bands cd reviews coming up and I assure you, these guys rock!
