Lemmy

It’s Lemmy The Movie!

www.imotorhead.com announced 2009 will bring us “Lemmy The Movie”, like that title says, the movie will be about the God-Father of heavy music, Lemmy Kilmister.

This is what the website wrote:

Lemmy’s story is about to move from the concert hall to the big screen.  Tentatively titled “Lemmy”, the documentary movie promises fans more access than ever before to Kilmister’s life, and includes interviews with past and present bandmates and such peers/admirers as Slash, Dave Grohl, the Clash’s Mick Jones, Alice Cooper, Steve Vai and wrestling superstar Triple H.

Directors/producers Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski are shooting the movie on a combination of HD video and super 16 mm film. “Lemmy” is planned for release in 2009 and a teaser clip is already available at http://www.lemmymovie.com/

Some other Motörhead news, the band started the recording of the “Kiss of Death” follow up earlier this year. Drum tracks have been recorded in Dave Grohl’s studio.

Apes IQ

Lead vocals, guitar: Slim Jim
Lead Guitar, backing vocals: Guzz
Bass: Toy Boy
Drums: TBA

This Swedish band really does puts the Sleaz back in Sleazy with their fast, hard rocking songs with often dirty but funny sexist lyrics. Apes IQ just gives you a shot of adrenaline through the speakers with their music. The band also shows they’ve got a sence of humour as well, just listen to the lyrics, you’ll know what I mean.

Well.. what’s more to say about this band except they just rock your ass off and will probably do something else to the girl next to you.

Check out their myspace here: http://myspace.com/kixxville to listen to their anarchistic rockin songs from their 2005 release “The Kixxville Commercial”. Wich they describe as: “The 13-track album “The kixxville Commercial” sounds a bit like Elvis Presley on way too much caffeine, trying to perform “Hound Dog”, while he’s getting slapped in the face by Sid Vicious.”

Vains of Jenna

Lizzy DeVine – Vocals and Guitar
Nicki Kin – Guitar
Jacki Stone – Drums
JP White – Bass

Vains of Jenna is a sleazemetal band from, ofcourse, Sleazy-Sweden. And they just kick fucking ass.. Vains of Jenna bring you back the 80’s sleaze, but way more raw and intense than the bands back in the day. Their main influences are Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses, The Rolling Stones (they’ve recorded an awesome version of Jumpin’ Jack Flash), Hanoi Rocks and Aerosmith, and you can definatally hear that back in their songs, wich is ofcourse, not a bad thing. The band has released their debut cd called “Lit Up Let Down” in 2006 featuring they hitsingle “No One’s Gonna Do It For You”. The video for that song was directed by Bam Margera, in his own backyard/home.

The band also just announced they’re goin’ back in the studio to record a new album. No doubt that one’s gonna fucking kick ass!

Vains of Jenna head back to the studio for 2nd album!
Fans, Friends and random people of the world,

VAINS OF JENNA has started production for the follow up to 2006 “Lit Up / Let Down”.

Last week the band went in to studio with producer Brent Woods. Woods produced VOJ’s “Enemy in me” that can be found on the “Viva La Bands vol. 2″ compilation.

The new tracks are gonna be a major step up for the band who’s been writing songs since they got back from touring nonstop for the most part of 2007.

We can’t tell you when the new CD will be out, but previews will be posted here on our myspace as soon as the band’s got some new tracks mixed.

This album is gonna be quite different from what fans are used to. But trust me, It’s gonna be one hell of a rock album.

It’s been three years since the band recorded their debut. No title has been set for the album yet.

STAY TUNED!

“…RIP MY HEART OUT N’ LET IT ROLL…”

Loaded

Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan is hitting the studio again next moth with his band Loaded. Duff himself announced it on http://www.duff-loaded.com a couple of days ago.

Hey Guys Well, here we go. Loaded will be start our new record on June 4th in Seattle. We hope to sort of blaze right through it and make a big, live rock sounding record! Rock Out! Duff.

Duff will be hitting the road again too with Loaded this summer. He also announced he will appear on Izzy Stradlin’s new solo album.

I hear you all thinkin, will he have enough time to help VR find a new singer and write new stuff? I guess so.. The man is juggling with all kinds of things atm. This is what he said in a post a while ago:

I just left Matt’s where we laid down 12 new jams….KILLER! Kick ass people!

Bumblefoot mentions Chinese Democracy in interview

13 05 2008

Bumblefoot

In a recent interview with Live-Metal.net, Bumblefoot got questioned about the most expensive record never made..

You can read the full interview, mostly about his upcoming solo album, here: http://www.live-metal.net/interviews_bumblefoot.html

Do you ever tire of being asked what is slowly turning into the Million Dollar Rock Journalism Question, “When is Chinese Democracy going to be released?”

How can you not ask that question? It’s like, “Doesn’t anyone notice that elephant in the room?!” We have new management and they are good guys, and it’s in negotiations.

It has to be exciting for you, since Chinese Democracy is becoming such a piece of rock history. Do you know what your contribution to the album is?

I played on every song. Yeah, it is exciting, but I can’t get that excited without thinking of the other guys. I am more excited for them because their journey with this is so much longer than mine. For me, it has been two years of seriously being active and there are guys who have been doing this for 10 years and I am just so fucking happy for them.

So it’s the same old Chinese Democracy story we’ve been hearing the past years.

Message from Keith Nelson on new Buckcherry album.

10 05 2008

Keith Nelson

Two days ago lead guitarist Keith Nelson from Buckcherry wrote this in his blog about the upcoming Buckcherry album:

Today is the day. We started writing and rehearsing for these recording sessions a few months back and now the time has come to put this baby on wax! we have so many songs now, the biggest challenge is what NOT to include on the record. A quality problem. True to form we work quick, afterall we did “15″ in fifteen days. We’re shooting for the same vibe with this one, but maybe adding an extra week. Will we call it “21″? Ummm… No. But, part of what made that record so much fun is we just captured the raw essence of the band without over-thinking the recording process, and that’s exactly how we’re making this one.

Stay tuned for more updates as I’ll be taking the time to let you know what’s going on here and how everything is progressing a little more frequently than before. We can’t wait for everyone to hear this new music. Keep the faith and stay tuned!

Keith

Bach’s reaction on rumours of him joining Velvet Revolver

10 05 2008

Velvet Bach

I always thought it wasn’t gonna be Bach in VR.. anyway, this is what I just read on wikipedia:

On May 6, 2008, ex-Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach was interviewed on “The Buckethead Show” on Tampa’s 98 Rock radio station about the rumors concering him being considered for the position of lead singer in Velvet Revolver, after the split from Scott Weiland.
He said that he actually spoke to Slash recently, but also that joining Velvet Revolver will be very awkward for him and unlikely, stating he thinks his latest solo record “Angel Down” is better than all of Velvet Revolver’s records, and that since he is very good friends with Axl Rose, he said he would feel uncomfortable to sing Axl’s songs (refering to Guns N’ Roses covers that the band performs on live shows), although he finished off with saying “I love Guns N’ Roses material, but I’ve got my own old songs — Skid Row — so for me, it would all depend on music. I wouldn’t just join the band just to join the band. If we came up with some incredible new songs, then maybe I’d think about it.”

———————————————

Okay.. 2 things..
1. Now I’m even more glad it isn’t gonna be Bach in VR.
2. He did make me curious about Angel Down..
